This Banana Berry Smoothie is refreshing, nutrient-packed and takes minutes to make. You can find this healthy berrylicious treat & more in 40 Days of Green Smoothies by Becky Striepe.

Smoothies are my favorite way to get nutrition in a flash. They're easy to make, satisfying and super delicious, too. They are perfect for busy mornings or for to-go breakfast or snacks.

Some personal favorites are my Piña Colada Smoothie and my Apple Pie Smoothie. They both taste like dessert, but they're are guilt-free and nutritious.

This Banana Berry Smoothie by Becky Striepe is now a part of my smoothie arsenal. It's light, refreshing and sweet.

I was super excited to review Becky's new book, 40 Days of Green Smoothies because my smoothie making days were on a long hiatus since the holidays. I needed a boost and some new inspiration to dust that blender off. This book was exactly what I needed to get back on the smoothie train and nourish my body.

    My first impression

The first thing I noticed was the organized shopping list for each week. That immediately made everything feel super easy to jump into. The lists contained easy-to-find and inexpensive ingredients. I loved the idea of shopping only once a week and keeping my wallet happy.

Even though the ingredients are simple and shopping is done once a week, there's a lot of variety of flavor, color and nutrients going into each smoothie. Every day will be a new experience for your taste buds and they will never get bored.

Some of the delicious recipes in 40 Days of Green Smoothies include Coconut Black Out, Spicy Mango Tango, Cherries Jubilee, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, and Mexican Iced Chocolate. Don't they all sound tasty?

Becky did a great job keeping things simple, yet mouth-watering and fun. This is the perfect book for someone starting out on their smoothie journey or even smoothie veterans like myself. Also, it's great for anyone that has an aversion to greens - you'll never know they're in there & kiddos will love 'em too

Reasons to welcome smoothies into your life:

    • They strengthen the immune system
    • It's a healthy & portable meal
    • Experience increased energy
    • Supplies brain-boosting power
    • Gives you radiant skin, hair & nails
    • Weight loss
    • Body detoxification
    • Kids love 'em
    • One glass will nourish your body with vitamins, minerals, omegas, healthy fats & protein
    • Improve digestion
    • Quick, easy, healthy and fun!

This list can go on forever and I can't think of any reasons not to introduce smoothies into your diet. 40 Days of Green Smoothies can help you start your journey to a healthier & happier you - I highly recommend it.

    Banana Berry Smoothie

Besides its gorgeous pink color, this smoothie called for simple ingredients and was a snap to put together. It's made with frozen banana, raspberries, fresh parsley, chia seeds, water, and ice cubes. In under 2 minutes, I was nourishing my body and satisfying my taste buds.

This Banana Berry Smoothie was super refreshing and bursting with naturally sweet and slightly tart flavors. I wasn't sure what to expect from the parsley, but I was pleasantly surprised. It brightened and balanced out the flavors of the fruit. I'm hooked and I'll be adding fresh parsley to my future smoothies.
