Roasted Garlic

Are you ready to fill your home with the most heavenly, mouth-watering aroma, while creating a sweet & savory snack, appetizer or recipe enhancer? What if I told you, that this can be done with just a few simple ingredients. “Sure, how do I do that”, you ask? Well, all you need is a head of garlic, some olive oil, salt, pepper and your oven. You can turn a regular head of garlic into this heavenly Roasted Garlic.

These Roasted Garlic cloves are golden, buttery and caramelized to perfection. They are ridiculously easy to make and not much effort is needed, because these magical cloves will do all the work on their own. They just need high heat and they will transform from spicy, crunchy & pungent to mellow, soft and aromatic.

You can use roasted garlic for almost any recipe that calls for garlic, like sauces, dips, spreads, soups, dressings, casseroles and more. This will turn up the flavor 1000%. Yes, it’s THAT good and so darn simple, too! These Fried Olives worked beautifully with these buttery cloves. I always keep roasted garlic cloves in my fridge or freezer because I add it to almost everything and it never goes to waste around here.

This fragrant delight makes the perfect appetizer or snack, too. If you have some last-minute guests, just pop a few garlic heads in the oven and you can serve this creamy deliciousness with some crunchy bread, crackers or crisp veggies. You can top it with some fresh basil, red pepper flakes or just serve it on its own. It all works, the options are endless.

Just look at how simple this is:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Peel a few layers of paper from the garlic head, but keep enough on to keep the cloves together. Slice about 1/4 “off the garlic head, to expose the cloves.

Place the heads on a piece of foil. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and fresh ground pepper. Wrap up in the foil. Roast until cloves are lightly browned and tender, about 40-45 minutes. The garlic is done when a center clove is easily pierced with a knife or fork. Set aside to cool. Squeeze the roasted garlic out of the skins into a bowl.

That’s it, now those raw garlic cloves will be transformed into golden, buttery goodness. You can serve them wrapped beautifully inside their papery shell, because it makes such a lovely table presentation. Easy peasy! Who knew that garlic could be so darn incredible!
